Loveland Valentine Re-mailing Program

Valentine card with red hearts

About

Since 1946, Loveland volunteers have hand-stamped valentines with a special postmark; 2027 drop boxes are out Jan. 8 through Feb. 8.

The Loveland Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Postal Service re-mail valentines from "Sweetheart City" with a special postmark and a cachet design picked in a local contest. 2027 is the program's 81st year.

When and where

  • Drop boxes go out around town Jan. 8, 2027, and come in Feb. 8, 2027; after that, drop off at the Post Office or the Chamber office
  • To mail in from anywhere, put stamped, addressed valentines inside a larger stamped envelope to: Postmaster, Valentine Re-mailing, 446 E. 29th St., Loveland, CO 80538

Why we picked it

  • Volunteers hand-stamp every card, and it is billed as the largest program of its kind in the country
  • Costs only postage
  • Locals can enter the card, verse and cachet design contest; 2027 entries were due Oct. 23, 2026
